Adjusting San Luis Obispo spines and extremities since 2000

Dr. Brian Buchanan, D.C. grew up as an athlete in the now-famous central California town of McFarland. He grew up in the outdoors in a farming community where you had to be creative and make up your own fun, games and sports.

He played trombone in the elementary school band where he learned to love music, and he competed in many sports while in school. He received the All-League Award and Most Valuable Player award in baseball.  He was a very successful sprinter and jumper for coach Jim White – the famous coach (remember the movie McFarland, USA? That was Coach Jim).

Brian Buchanan graduated from high school in 1983 to attend College of the Sequoias and graduated with an Associated Degree in 1986. He was still not sure what he wanted to study but after taking a break for a year in Lake Tahoe, he confirmed his interest in health, fitness, and athletics.

Brian Buchanan moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cuesta College when he was hit in a rear-end automobile collision. His neck and low back were injured, and the muscle relaxants and painkillers prescribed by the medical doctor didn’t help. He heard about a good chiropractor, so he went and was examined thoroughly and adjusted. Brian was amazed that he felt so much immediate relief! His interest in chiropractic grew, and he decided to become a chiropractor. He attended Cal Poly and received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and pre-medical classes for Chiropractic College.

He attended Life West Chiropractic College (The Best School In The Land). He excelled, learning as many chiropractic techniques as possible, and specialized in extremity adjusting.

Currently, Dr. B has many different roles. He is a father, a husband, a musician, a competitive runner, a coach, a trainer and a motivator.

Most importantly, Dr. Buchanan DC is a Chiropractor. He loves helping people get well. Over the last 18 years, he has helped thousands of people get out of pain and perform better in life. He has helped thousands of athletes, students, back pain sufferers, and people hurt in accidents to feel better and regain function and mobility through chiropractic care.
